Yamadorinomori Auto Camping Ground
BungalowOverview
This two-story wooden public bathhouse and residential structure was conceived by a structural designer who personally experienced the Kumamoto earthquake in 2016. Upon witnessing the predicament faced by nearby residents in accessing baths in the aftermath of the earthquake, he decided to set up a public bathhouse for the local community when rebuilding his home. With the public bathhouse on the first floor and a residence for his family of four on the second floor, the building’s sophisticated structural design cleverly highlights the beauty of the natural wood finish. This building, which has become a symbol of restoration in the town and supports the community during emergencies, was constructed with wood that we supplied.
