Fujinoya Tanada no hanare
Overview
The plan for a new detached building in relation to an existing inn. The gently undulating mountains of Mount Aso’s outer rim, groves of cedar trees. The flow of the water near the source of the Chikugo River, the terraced rice paddies cultivated by people over time. And the enduring culture of controlled burning. We aimed to connect the complex elements already intertwined, such as the flow of time, the surrounding nature, and the lives of people, with the luxury of time at the resort. The architecture serves as a node of a multi-layered landscape.
